Tasting notes
"The 2013 Brunello di Montalcino Vigna del Fiore is a superb wine from an estate that boasts some of the most prized pedigree in Montalcino. This wine made me so happy to taste. Its various elements of spice, dark fruit and textural fortitude come together with seamless precision. Of course, you get that bright acidity on the close that keeps the palate ready for the next sip. These characteristics bode well for its future cellar longevity. The winemaking style is classic and contemporary at once. Only 4,000 bottles were produced." 95/100, Monica Larner, Robertparker.com, Mar 2018
"Aromas of wild berry, leather, rose and tobacco leaf come together in the glass. The polished full-bodied palate doles out crushed raspberry, Morello cherry and star anise set against taut fine-grained tannins. Give this time to fully develop. Drink 2023–2033." 94/100 Kerin O'Keefe, Wine Enthusiast, May 2018
"A superb wine for the mellow and complex, concentrated palate, this has a very impressive dark-cherry and earthy core. Spiced leather and sweet and rich red- and dark-cherry fruits roll into the finish. Great wine. Try from 2022." 93/100 James Suckling, Sep 2018
"Rich, bursting with cherry, plum, spice and chocolate flavors. Accents of tobacco and leather seep in at the edges as this winds down on the long finish. Dense and powerful. Best from 2022 through 2036." 93/100, WineSpectator.com Jun 2028
"Medium red with a hint of amber at the rim. Deep, perfumed nose of red cherry, cedar and violet. Enters juicy and round, displaying outstanding sweetness to the red fruit flavors, then more austere, with a noteworthy tannic spine providing backbone but also suppressing the fruit somewhat on the long, clean, flinty back end. This will really benefit from a good five or six years of cellaring – at least." 92+/100, Ian D'Agata, Vinous, Apr 2018
