(2017 Vintage)

"This is one of the best pinot grigios of the year. Fantastic density and richness with cooked peaches, sliced apples, pears and minerals. Full-bodied, very layered and beautiful. A benchmark for pinot grigio from Italy. Drink now." 96/100 James Suckling, Aug 2018

The producer

Schiopetto Capriva del Friuli, Collio, Italy

Mario Schiopetto was the father of modern Friulian white wine. Working from the Collio hills near Capriva del Friuli, he pioneered low-temperature fermentation and rigorous attention to vineyard selection in the 1960s and 70s at a time when Italian whites were an afterthought. His benchmark Pinot Grigio redefined what the variety could achieve.

Today the estate continues under the Schiopetto family, farming the same celebrated Collio terroir and upholding the founder's philosophy: minimal intervention, precise viticulture, and wines that speak of place above all else.
