Our single-minded goal when we started our wine delivery twelve years ago was to be the most trusted wine supplier in Singapore who can bring to our customers truly great wines from the most acclaimed regions at the best prices — a wine list that you can trust blindly for quality and its price.

The Wine Monk is a fruit of years of personal struggle and research in either not being able to buy the wine we read about, or finding it prohibitively expensive when we did. While Singapore does have some disadvantages on account of import duties and a diverse market, it is still a large enough market with no less discerning palates. There is no particular reason why wines from the famed villages of Meursault, Montrachet and Chablis, or the great Barolos, Barbarescos and Brunellos shouldn't be here — and at prices that won't bust the bank.

Over the years, we have brought some of the most iconic bottles from 1st growth Bordeaux to small memorable estates from Italy, assembled into a portfolio you can run through for choice and style without needing to reach for your phone to validate the producer or vintage.

Our prices continue to rival a wholesaler's — not just locally but internationally for many wines — without forcing you to buy in bulk.

Why French and Italian?

When we started, we focused on French and Italian wines because there was simply too much variety and quality to learn and bring from these two oldest wine regions. Over the years we have loved and added wines from Australia and New Zealand, and we follow and source from further afield on request. But our most passionate love affair remains with the French and Italian terroir — and we are still smitten every time we find a new historical estate in Italy.

The Wine Monk is a purely delivery-based online wine retailer and we do not have any on-premises sales.
